Charlotte Studer, 81, of Davenport and formerly of Clarion and Eagle Grove passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Genesis Medical Center in Davenport, Iowa. Graveside services for Charlotte Studer will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion with Pastor Bill Kem officiating. Visitation for Charlotte Studer will be held one hour prior to the graveside services at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion.
Charlotte Ann Studer was born January 21, 1934 to Emmett and Ruth (Shaw) Boggs in Clarion, Iowa. She was raised in Clarion and graduated from Clarion High School. Charlotte was united in marriage to Maurice Studer on April 23, 1955 at the Little Brown Church. To this union, three children were born. The family made their home in and around Clarion before moving to Eagle Grove in 1968. Charlotte worked as a nurse’s assistant from 1966 until the time of Maurice’s death in 1976, when she moved to Sun City, Arizona. She attended and graduated from a dental technician program in Glendale, Arizona and later graduated as a licensed practical nurse from a community college in Kansas. She moved to Powell, Wyoming and worked as an LPN until she was forced into retirement due to health challenges.
Charlotte moved to Ames in 2003, and later to the Davenport, Iowa area to be near her family. Charlotte loved flower gardening, decorating, baking and listening to music.
Charlotte is survived by her son Timothy (Kelly) Studer of Bennett, Iowa; along with 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, husband Maurice in 1976, sons Leslie in 1970 and Stephen in 2012, along with two sisters and one brother.
