Danny Herman Stockdale was born June 27, 1946, the son of Thomas and Lucille Michehl Stockdale, at Fort Dodge. He received his education in the Eagle Grove school system and graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1965. Upon completion of high school, he entered the U.S; Army. He served for two years, with one of those years having been stationed in Vietnam. He has been employed by the Frigidaire Company in Webster City, having held the position of Union Steward for U.A.W. Local #442. Most recently, he was a self-employed carpenter in Duncombe. He was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in Fort Dodge.

Danny Herman Stockdale died at the Veterans Memorial Hospital in Des Moines on March 5, 1993 at the age of 46 years, eight months, and eight days. He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by two sons, Ryan and Josh both of Fort Dodge; his mother, Lucille Stockdale, Eagle Grove; eight brothers, Eugene and Robert of Fort Dodge; James of Carlisle; Jerold and Mark of Eagle Grove; Kenneth of Mankato, Minn.; David of Milwaukee, Wis.; Timothy of Lewisville, Texas; seven sisters, Mrs. Tony (Betty) Rasmussen of Springfield, Ore.; Mrs. Clint (Joyce) Hill, Eagle Grove; Mrs. Jim (Connie) McConnell of Ketchikan, Alaska; Mrs. Doug (Diane) Terwilliger of Ottosen; Mrs. Tom (Luann) Brickei of Ankeny; Mrs. Jim (Doris) Madson, and Mrs. Tim (Marcia) Sadler, both of Eagle Grove.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 10 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove. The Rev. Lyle Peters officiated at the 2 p.m. service and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Kastler-Babcock Services, Eagle Grove, was in charge of arrangements.
