Knute John Wilson, the son of Mads and Kathryn Hemmings Wilson, was born on April 25, 1883, at Huxley, Iowa. He died on Tuesday afternoon, May 13, 1980, at the Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove, Iowa. He attained the age of 97 years and 18 days. He attended the Eagle Grove schools. On February 11, 1908, he was united in marriage with Luce E. Dingman of Webster City at Fort Dodge, Iowa. The couple lived in Minnesota, where Knute was a tiler and worked on a dredge boat. The family moved to Iowa and lived at Vincent, Webster City and Fort Dodge. Later, they moved to a farm south of Thor, Iowa and then to Eagle Grove. He had been a resident of the Rotary Ann Home since 1974.
He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Lorene Stover of Kansas City, Mo.; 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; 2 great -great grandchildren
and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, who died in 1960; two sons, Virgil and Wilford and a great-grandchild. Funeral services for Knute J. Wilson, were held on Saturday, May 17, 1980 at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home in Eagle Grove at 10.30 A. M. Rev. Marvin A. Berkeland, of the Evangelical Lutheran Church officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Eagle Grove.Eagle Grove Eagle - Eagle Grove, Iowa
