June 30, 1900 --- November 25, 1982

Mrs. C. J. (Velva Kay) Christiansen, 82, formerly of Clarion, died at a Hot Springs, Arkansas hospital on Thursday, November 25, 1982. Graveside services were held from Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion on Monday afternoon at two-thirty. Rev. Richard T. Hohl was in charge of the service. Arrangements were by Eyler-Willim Funeral Home. Velva was born on June 30, 1900 at Nora Springs and was the daughter of Conrad and Belle Shanks Hansuld. She was married to Charles J. Christiansen and for many years he was the Superintendent of the Clarion Schools. He died in August of 1968 and for the past 14 years she had made her home in Hot Springs. She is survived by one daughter, Carol K. Johnson of Austin, Texas and one grandson, Craig P. Johnson, also of Austin.
