Dr. Albert W. Gugisburg, 82, a retired dentist, died Tuesday in his home in La Jolla. He had lived in the county for 25 years. Born in Renwick, Iowa, he earned his degree at the University of Iowa in 1926. He was a member of Delta Sigma Delta fraternity. He later became a member of Za-Ga-Zig Order of the Shriners. He was affiliated with a number of professional organizations, including the American Dental Association. During the Korean War, Dr. Gugisburg was in charge of the Dental Department of the Army Hospital in Heidelberg, West Germany. He retired to La Jolla after 32 years as a dentist in Des Moines, Iowa.

He is survived by his wife, Pearl of La Jolla; two daughters, Amber and Carol of San Diego; three grandchildren; and a brother, Fred Gugisburg, of Renwick, Iowa. Services were Friday at El Camino Mortuary chapel, with entombment in El Camino Mausoleum. The family suggests contributions be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association.
