Former Bremerton resident Klemme O. Longley Jr., 73, of Grandview, Mo., died Jan. 1, 1997, at Mariner Health Facility in Olathe, Kan. He was born Aug. 31, 1923, in Dows, Iowa. He graduated from Bremerton High School in 1941. During World War II, he was a B-24 turret gunner and endured 11 months captivity in POW camps throughout Germany. Mr. Longley attended San Diego State College and worked in the plumbing and heating business in Grandview, Mo., for 32 years. He was employed by the Grandview School District. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; a son, J. Douglas Longley; a daughter, Linda Grantham; his twin brother, Kendall; a sister, Jean Sherman of Olympia; and one granddaughter. Memorials may be sent to Olathe Medical Center Hospice, Olathe, Kansas.
