From a newspaper clipping dated June 18, 1980

Donald Devere McCutheon, the son of John and Iva Clarinda Helmer McCutcheon, was born on September 30, 1912, near Goldfield in Wright County, Ia. He died on Monday evening, June 8, 1980, at the Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove at the age of 67 years, 8 months and 17 days.

He grew up and received his education in the Goldfield area. Donald farmed in the Goldfield area until 1976, when he retired and moved to Goldfield. He was never married and he and his brother, Leonard, made their home together. He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Goldfield.

He is survived by three sisters; Vera, Mrs. Carl Lewis of Webster City; Mrs. Marian Heslop of Ames; Verla, Mrs. Harry Crovisier of Thor; a brother, Lawrence McCutcheon of Goldfield and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Walter and Leonard.

Goldfield --Donald D. McCutcheon, 67, died Monday evening at the Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in United Presbyterian Church, Goldfield, with burial in Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield. Friends may call at Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home, Eagle Grove, after 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Surviving are sisters, Mrs. Carl (Vera) Lewis, Webster City; Mrs. Harry (Verla) Crovisier, Thor; Mrs. Marian Heslop, Ames; and brother, Lawrence McCutcheon, Goldfield.

Donald D. McCutcheon was born on a farm near Goldfield and educated in the Goldfield area. He farmed until his retirement in 1976 when he moved to Goldfield. He had never married.

He had been in the Rotary Ann Home for about a month.
