Goldfield Rites for 80 year old.

Funeral services for Mrs. John McCutcheon, 80 of Goldfield, will be held Thursday, September 29 at the Goldfield Presbyterian church, at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Kay Mills will officiate. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery at Goldfield. The Kastler Funeral home of Eagle Grove is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. John McCutcheon, daughter of George and Mary Helmer, was born in Grundy Center, Iowa, Oct. 1, 1879 and passed away at the Clarion Community Memorial hospital September 26, 1960 at the age of 80 years, 11 months and 26 days.

She came to Goldfield at the age of 13 with her parents. On December 25, 1900 she was united in marriage to John McCutcheon and they located on a farm near Goldfield. She and her husband spent the next 60 years farming in this vicinity.

Mrs. McCutcheon professed her faith and was received in membership at the Methodist church at Goldfield. In later years her letter was transferred to the United Prebyterian church.

She was preceded in death by one son, Walter Scott McCutcheon. Surviving are her husband and six children, Mrs. Carl Lewis of Webster City, Mrs. Harry Heslop of Ames, Mrs. Harry Crovisier of Thor and Lawrence, Leonard and Donald of Goldfield. She also has two sisters, Mrs. Flora Slaikeu of Alhambra, Calif., Mrs. Roy Whyman of Ganado, Texas and eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Although reaching the age of 80 years her passing will be a great sorrow to her family and all who knew her.
