August 21, 1900 --- December 7, 1967

Bruce Prescott Blake was born Aug. 21, 1900 at Eagle Grove to Wayland and Mary Prescott Blake. He died on Dec. 7 at his home in Eagle Grove. Mr. Blake lived in Eagle Grove all his life. As a young man he joined his father in the operation of the W. R. Blake Lumber Company. In later years, Mr. Blake and his son Wayland operated the lumber yard. On June 1, 1929, he and Bess Roberts were united in marriage. To this union were born two children: Alice, Mrs. Lynn Twedt of Harvard, Ill. and Wayland of Willmar, Minn. He was a member of the First Congregational Church.

He leaves to mourn his death, his wife Bess, son, Wayland, daughter, Alice, and four grandchildren; Shelly and Maria Blake and Blake and Bruce Twedt. Funeral services were held on December 9, 1967 at the Kastler - Babcock Funeral Home with the Rev. Emmett R. Braselton officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery at Eagle Grove, Iowa.
