Mrs. M. J. Woods Dies of Heart Ailment
Mrs. M. J. Woods, 71, died at 12:50 p.m. yesterday at Holy Family hospital of a heart condition. She had been ill most of the summer and entered the hospital two weeks ago.
Mrs. Woods, the former Rosana Dominy, was born Aug. 2, 1880, in Ottawa, Ill. and was educated in the LaSalle county, Ill. public schools. She taught school for several years in Illinois before she married on Jan. 16, 1907, in Ottawa. Mr. and Mrs. Woods moved to Terril in 1914 and to a farm east of Gruver in 1918. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic church, St. Catherine's circle of the Altar and Rosary society.
She is survived by her husband, five children; Mrs. Matt Reuland (Marie) of Superior, John, Alma, and William of Estherville and Sister Mary Cabrial (Lucille) of Tulsa, Okla; two grandchildren, Bernard and Robert Reuland; two brothers, H. L. Dominy of Estherville and Frank Dominy of Council Bluffs; two sisters, Mrs. J. C. [Jessie] Parr of Plano, Ill, and Mrs. Cora Rea of Plattsburg, N.Y. Four children preceded her in death, three in infancy and a son Bernard in 1928 at the age of 19.
Requiem high mass will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's church, the Rev. Father James H. Duhigg officiating. Rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Woods home, ?? North Sixth Street. Mrs. Woods will be buried in St. Patrick's cemetery. Friends may call at the Sandin funeral home until 3 p.m. Friday.
