March 7, 1836 --- July 28, 1921

Joel Martin Dominy was born in Beekmantown, New York, March 6, 1836, and died at his home near Goodell, Iowa, July 28, 1921, at the age of 85 years 4 months and 22 days. He was married to Rebecca Miller of LaSalle Co., Ill., in 1868. To this union were born seven children, all of whom are living: Cora J. Rea of Beekmantown, N.Y., John M. of Goodell, Iowa, William S. of Calhoun, Mo., Jessie M. Parr of Sheridan, Ill., Rosa A. Woods and Harry L. both of Estherville, Iowa, and Francis C. of Goodell, Iowa. Mr. Dominy came from New York to Illinois in 1860 where he lived until 1902 when he moved to Goodell, Iowa, where he has since make his home. Mr. Dominy was a member of King Solomon Lodge of Masons of Belmond and they had charge of the services which were held at the home on last Saturday Morning. Rev. Leinbach, pastor of the Congregational church of Belmond delivered the address after which the body was laid to rest in the cemetery at Goodell. Rev. Wiggins of Garner assisted in the funeral services.
