Martin Ringstad died at the Story City hospital where he had been a patient for one week. He was born Feb 27, 1881 on a farm south of Ellsworth, the son of J. O. and Christine Nielson Ringstad. He was a farmer near Jewell, Eagle Grove, Radcliffe and south of Ellsworth, moving into Jewell in 1929. He was later employed with the railroad and in the carpentry trade. He was married to Tilda T. Olson at Ellsworth, who preceded him in death in 1966. He was also preceded in death by an infant son, Vivian, his parents and one brother. He is survived by three sons, Clifford J. Ringstad of Mt. Clemons, Mich., Ray O. Ringstad of Webster City and Vernon W. Ringstad of Los Angeles; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Gaskins, Colorado Springs, Colo., Mrs. Iver Olson of Jewell and Mrs. Jessie Johnson, Ellsworth, a half sister, Mrs. Frederick Schauffler of New York; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
