MRS. BURNS, 63, DIED TODAY

Mrs. Robert Burns, 63, former Webster City resident, died at 2:40 a.m. at the University Hospital in Iowa City. For the past five years, she had resided at the Iowa Soldiers Home in Marshalltown. Funeral services will be a 2 p.m. Monday at the Foster Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert E. Shaw, officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery.

Muriel Richardson, daughter of Dr. E. E. and Kate Richardson was born Jan. 25, 1899, at Sheldon, Iowa. When she was a young girl, she moved with her parent to Webster City. She attended Webster City schools and was graduated from Lincoln High school in 1918. She was united in marriage June 9, 1918 to Robert Burns. The couple resided in Webster City, Hampton and Eagle Grove for a short time before returning to Webster city where Mr. Burns opened a sporting goods store which he operated for many years.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Cecil (Dorothy) Thorington of Stratford; two grandchildren, Jay and Joy Thorington; three brothers, Robert Richardson of Salisbury, Md., Everett Richardson, of Fargo, N.D., and Lynn Richardson of Webster City. She was preceded in death by her husband who died Jan 12, 1958, by one daughter, who died in infancy, and by her parents. Mrs. Burns was a member of the Baptist church.
