Wilma Pauline Fitch, 84, of Allison, Iowa, passed away December 18, 2006 at the Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa. Wilma was born April 7, 1922, in rural Bristow, Iowa, to Henry and Dorthia (Edeker) True. She was baptized May 7, 1922, at the Vilmar Church and confirmed in 1937, at St. James Lutheran Church in Allison. She attended school in Bristow.

Wilma and Chester Fitch were marred on December 30, 1945, in Greene, Iowa. To this union two children were born. Wilma and Chester farmed, and in later years she worked as a custodian for the Allison Schools retiring in 1992. Wilma did charity work for the elderly in the Allison area. She was very active in St. James Lutheran Church and enjoyed crocheting and cooking.

She loved her grandchildren and was a wonderful mother. She will be very much missed by everyone. She is survived by her daughter Beverly and husband Thomas Sutter of Commerce Township, Michigan, daughter-in-law Vina Fitch of Winterset, sister-in-law Gazina True of Waverly, three grandchildren Dawn, Heather and Jane and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Chester in 1995, son Harlan, brothers Elmer and Floyd and sister-in-law Harriet True.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m Saturday, December 23, 2006 at St. James Lutheran Church in Allison, Iowa with Rev. Jeffrey A. Blank officiating. Special music was provided by organist Vivian Green accompanying the congregational singing. Ushers were Melvin Bohlen and Robert Wubbena. Pallbearers were Larry Miller, Scot Henrichs, Dean Wiegmann, Ronnie Russell, Dana Uhlenhopp and Charles H. Mosher. Final resting place was in the Lynwood Cemetery in Clarksville, Iowa. Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
