June 23, 1910 --- July 29, 1995

Chester Laverne Fitch, 85, of Allison, was born June 23, 1910 in Murdo, South Dakota, the son of Edward and Rose (Hix) Fitch. Chester was united in marriage to Wilma True on December 30, 1945 in Greene, Iowa. He was a farmer and belonged to the St. James Lutheran Church in Allison. Chester passed away Saturday, July 19, 1995, at the Waverly Municipal Hospital.

He is survived by his wife, Wilma Fitch, Allison; a daughter, Beverly Jackson, Albroan, IA; two brothers: Victor Fitch, Burt; and Harold Fitch, Renwick; four sisters: Leona Williams, Britt; Lois Zimmerman, Whittemore; Edna Lang, Algona; and Esther Miller, Cedar Rapids; and three grandchildren. Chester was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Harlan; and one brother, Lyle.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 1, 1995, at the St. James Lutheran Church in Allison with Pastor Jerry Laehn officiating. Pallbearers were Edwin Heyenga, Duane Gerdes, Jerry Hall, Chuck Diesburg, Scot Henrichs and Mark Jackson. Burial was in Lynwood Cemetery, Clarksville. Siestsema-Vogel Funeral Home in Allison was in charge of the arrangements.
