March 17, 1891 --- February 10, 1961

Johnnie Mayer, 69 years old, Clarion contractor and Humboldt resident died at 3 a.m. Friday at his home in Clarion. Funeral services for Mr. Mayer will be held in the Catholic church at Clarion at 9 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Humboldt's Union cemetery. Mr. Mayer's wife, the former Anna Nelson of Humboldt, survives him as well as two brothers, a sister and a niece. He was well-known as a brick and masonry contractor. He had built many churches, schools, and other large buildings through Iowa and the midwest.
