March 31, 1896 --- May 9, 1991

Mrs. Abbie Wagner, 95, of Brooklyn died Thursday evening, May 9, at Brookhaven Nursing Home, Brooklyn. Funeral services for Mrs. Wagner were held May 13 at Nevenhoven Funeral Home, Brooklyn. Rev. Kalen K. Fristad, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, officiated. Organist was Mrs. Nina Bartachek. Cremation followed the services and a private burial of the cremains will be held at a later date.

Abbie May Iverson Wagner, daughter of Iver Andrew and Mary Alvestad Iverson, was born March 31, 1896, in Eagle Grove. Her family moved to Roland where she was graduated from high school. She attended Capital City Commercial College, Des Moines. In 1923 her family moved to Belle Plaine. Oct. 10, 1929 she was united in marriage to Walter Lloyd Wagner. They moved to Brooklyn in 1937 where they operated Brooklyn Cash and Carry Grocery store. Mrs. Wagner was a member of the Lutheran faith.

Surviving are her daughter and her husband, Marilyn and Jack Lang of Brooklyn; a son and his wife, Robert and Ruth Wagner of Brooklyn; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Mrs. Wagner was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Clarence and Floyd Iverson, and one sister, Clara Britson.
