December 23, 1921 --- December 8, 1978

Mrs. Gerd Post, 56, of Humboldt, formerly of Rolfe, died Thursday evening at Trinity Regional Hospital, Fort Dodge, where she had been a patient for three weeks. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Rolfe, with Rev. James Asp officiating. Mrs. Charles Anderson was the organist and accompanied Perry Johnson as he sang, "How Great Thou Art" and "Living For Jesus." Casket bearers were Gilbert Asbe, David Post, Duane Asbe, William Post, Arthur Post, Rick Post. Burial was in the Norway Township Cemetery, Kanawha.

Wilma Asbe was born and educated in Kanawha. She married Gerd Post in Fort Dodge in 1943. The couple farmed south of Rolfe for many years before moving to Humboldt in 1976. Mrs. Post was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Rolfe, and had been employed by Pocahontas Community Hospital, Pocahontas. Survivors include her husband, Gerd; son, Gary, Des Moines; daughters, Mrs. Mark (Peggy) Cummings, Adel; and Mrs. Kent (Nancy) Loehr, Fort Collins, Colo.; three grandchildren; brother, Harold Asbe, Kanawha; and sister, Mrs. Gladys Schumway, Des Moines.
