Services for Virgil A. Miller, 46. of Forest City, were held Wednesday, Jan 6, (today), at 10:30 a.m., at the United Methodist Church in Forest City, with Rev. Gary Marzolf officiating. Music was provided by organist Sandy Price, with special music sung by Jennifer Keel and Bill Ferjak. Casket bearers included Ernie Miller, Dwayne Miller, Ed Miller, Michael Miller, Dwight Miller and Curt Moore. Interment was in Oakland Cemetery, Forest City.

Virgil Allen Miller was born in Vermillion, South Dakota on December 13, 1952, the son of Ernest and Bernice (Cummins) Miller. As a young child he moved with his family to Rowan, IA in 1959. The family moved to Belmond, IA in 1962. Virgil received his education in the Belmond schools and attended Belmond High School. He was united in marriage to Jerilyn Weiland on June 2, 1975 at the United Methodist Church in Bristol, IA. The couple lived in several north Iowa communities before making Forest City their home. Virgil worked at Winnebago Industries for 23 years. Virgil was an avid fisherman and loved sharing his pastime with his family. He enjoyed stock car races and watching boxing and wrestling on television. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Forest City. Virgil died at his home on Saturday, January 2, 1999 at the age of 46 years.

He is survived by his wife, Jerilyn Miller of Forest City; two daughters Cher Nielsen and husband Aaron of Forest City, and Shannon Miller of Forest City; a granddaughter, Kendra Miller of Forest City. Also, four brothers; Ernie Miller of Hayfield, IA, Michael Miller of Fort Dodge, IA, Dwight Miller of Belmond, IA, and Dwayne Miller of Britt, IA; three sisters, Betty Jones, Byrul Moore and Renee Miller, all of Belmond, along with several nieces and nephews. Virgil was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Earl Miller.
