Eileen Muriel Field

Eileen Field, age 92, a resident of Belmond, IA, most recently a resident at the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015 at the Rehabilitation Center in Belmond. Visitation for her will be Saturday, February 14, 2015 from 5-7 p.m. at Andrews Funeral Home-Belmond and will continue one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Funeral services will be Sunday, February 15, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church-Belmond.

Eileen was born June 14, 1922, on a farm near Hardy, IA, to George and Mabel (Mandsager) Orvick. Eileen attended grade school at Hanlontown, IA and graduated from Meservey High School in 1940 with a class of 7. During high school she attended church and youth group at Trinity Lutheran Church, Belmond. She attended Hamilton Business College for two years. Eileen worked at Northwestern Cement as a Switchboard Operator, filing clerk, and sales.

On November 17, 1946, she was united in marriage to Marlin Field at Richland Lutheran Church in Thornton, IA. They lived on a farm near Joice, IA, for 35 years raising four children. She loved working along side Marlin on the family farm and having a large garden. After her children were raised, Eileen enjoyed working as a CNA at Good Samaritan Home in Forest City, IA, for two years. In August 1978, Eileen moved from the farmstead to a home in Belmond. She worked at the Belmond Hospital as a CNA for six years. Her gifts of compassion and caring for those in need were obvious to the new mothers, babies, and adults she cared for. In 2006, she moved to the Belmond Community Apartments enjoying life there for 8 years.

She was a member of the Fertile Lutheran Church for many years, where she was active in the women's group and children's' ministries. Since moving to Belmond, she has been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was in a women's circle and Prayer Group. She was also a Cancer Survivor for 42 years. With faith, courage, and determination she endured a lot of medical problems following her treatments and surgeries.

Bible study, scrapbooking, genealogy, flowers, and reading occupied her time. She had a deep love for her family, always encouraging them to do their best but above all, to put their trust in Jesus to guide them and help them with their day to day problems. She cherished the time spent with grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Marlin, her parents, and one brother Hubert. Those left to cherish her memory are: Marshall (Phyllis) Field, Columbia, MO; Blaine (Judy) Field, Spicer, MN; Jane (Vaughn) Pals, Clear Lake, IA; and Brad (Connie) Field, New Richland, MN. Grandchildren include: Rebecca (Steve) Kincheloe, Matthew (Cynthia) Field, Nathan (Megan) Field, Michael (Emily) Field, Karen (Tyler) Johnson, Brandon (Liming) Pals, Jonathan Pals, Cheston (Erin) Field, Clark (Audra) Field, and Carson Field. Great grandchildren : Caleb and Jacob Kincheloe; Daniel, Ivory, and Jessica Pals; Alexandra Field; Isaac, Cadence, and Adalee Field; and McKenna Field.
