December 21, 1946 --- February 6, 2015

Cheryl Cynthia Aldrich, age 68, of Clarion, IA, passed away Friday, February 6, 2015 in the comfort of her home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at the Belmond United Church of Christ Congregational, 116 West Main St., Belmond. The Reverend Donna Buckman will be officiating. Burial will be in the Belmond Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 5-7 PM at the Andrews Funeral Home, 516 1st Street S.E., Belmond and will continue from 10-10:30 AM, at the church Tuesday. Those wishing to express their sympathies in Cheryl's memory may wish to consider memorials to Hospice of Wright County, the Iowa Specialty Hospital Foundation, or the Kid's Korner day care in Clarion.

Cheryl Cynthia (Mennenga) Aldrich was born December 21, 1946, to Arnold and Beryl (Hake/Cooper) Mennenga of Belmond, IA. Cheryl lived her entire life in the Belmond and Clarion communities. She was baptized and confirmed at United Church of Christ, Congregational of Belmond. She attended Belmond Community School and graduated with the class of 1965. Cheryl worked at Acco Seed Company until she married James Robert Aldrich in 1968 where they made their home in Clarion. This union was bless with two daughters: Loritta Beth and Angela Maria. After 18 years of marriage, Cheryl later divorced.

Cheryl worked at Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion for 22 years. After retirement she continued working part time at Kids Korner Daycare in the nursery area taking care of babies. She loved being around kids. Cheryl loved animals of the outdoors. She would feed squirrels and birds in her backyard. She also has 2 cats, Patches and Boots, whom she loved. She was a very caring and loving person, who always thought of others first before herself. She loved her grandchildren unconditionally. Her favorite past time was a passion for watching NASCAR on the weekends. She even attended the Iowa Speedway and went to a race at Kansas Speedway. Cheryl was very courageous fighting her battle with cancer before she came to rest.

Cheryl is survived by her children Loritta (Boyd) LaRue, grandsons Jordan and Keaton of Clarion; Angela (Michael) Anderson, granddaughters Hayley and Claire and grandson Luke of Clarion; sister Verda Rothstein of Florida; her beloved pets Patches and Boots, many nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Beryl Mennenga; sister Alyce; brother Kyle and sister-in-law Virginia; granddaughter Brooke Anna Anderson; brother-in-law Robert Rothstein and niece Anita Rothstein; Uncle Louis Mennenga, Aunt Janet Boelman, and many more uncles and aunts. We appreciate your kindness and expressions of sympathy. The family of Cheryl Aldrich.
