In 1882, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson came to America, Clinton, Iowa. In 1883 they came to Eagle Grove, where they have lived since, Mr. Johnson being in the service of the Chicago Northwestern Railroad for many years. Mr. Johnson died on December 5, 1937.

Mrs. Johnson was a quiet and dutiful lady, a kind wife and loving mother. She was a charter member of the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran church. Her health had not been very good for some time. But she passed away quietly after a brief serious illness. Her large family will miss her.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Wilson Funeral home. Burial was made in the family lot of the Rose Hill cemetery.
