Set Jan. 16 rites for Mrs. Odessa Ersland

Services for Mrs. Odessa Ersland, 79, of Hardy will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church at Hardy, with burial in the church cemetery. Kastler-Babcock-DeYoung Funeral Home, Eagle Grove, is in charge. Mrs. Ersland died Monday morning in Tompkins Memorial Health Center, Fort Dodge. Surviving are sons Jay, Thor; Ben, Phoenix, Arizona; a daughter, Mrs. Lewis Johnson, Hardy; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Hannah Tegtmeyer, Woden. Odessa Rasmussen was born at Thor and attended a country school near there. She married Ben Ersland in 1916 at Thor, and they farmed near Thor. Mr. Ersland died in 1960. She lived in Thor for a time and had been a resident of the health center for the past two years. She was a member of the ALCW of the church.
