Brenda Elaine (Poindexter) Thompson, the daughter of John A. and Alma G. (Stevens) Poindexter, was born December 18, 1948, in Oil City, Louisiana. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth, graduating from North Caddo High School in 1966. On May 3, 1967, Brenda was united in marriage with Paul Thompson in Marshall, Texas. The couple made their home in Eagle Grove after Paul served in the military. Brenda worked at Rotary Ann, Meredith/NEO Data and as a babysitter but she truly loved taking care of her family and spending time with her grandchildren. Brenda was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Brenda passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at Van Diest Medical Center in Webster City, with her family at her side, at the age of 66 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James A. Poindexter and sister, Johnnie S. Seymore. Brenda is survived by her husband, Paul Thompson; daughters, Christine Eger and Trudee Dobbs (Jess); son, Jonathan Thompson; eight grandchildren: Caitlynn Eger, Cassie Eger, Alexander Thompson, Sydney Thompson, Taryn Thompson, Olivia Flumerfelt, Sabrina Flumerfelt and Scarlett Dobbs; four brothers: Charles Poindexter, John Poindexter, David Poindexter and Richard Poindexter; six sisters: Shirley Taylor, Jenny Lucas, Tieresa Fontenot, Martha Findley, Debbie Marez and Angelea Johnson and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 5, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery will be at a later date. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
