Benjamin Franklin Wooster was born on August 6, 1915, at Herington, Kansas, to Martin and Katherine Groff Wooster. He was baptized on June 11, 1916. The family moved to Eagle Grove, Iowa, and he was confirmed at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove. He attended Eagle Grove Schools. He was united in marriage to Sarah Josephine Askeland on May 31, 1939, at Fort Dodge, Iowa. He served his country during World War II. He worked delivering milk with horses in Eagle Grove, then at the elevator and finally worked as plant operator at the Iowa Public Service plant. He retired in 1978. He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove, and was a volunteer fireman for 50 years.

Benjamin F. Wooster died Sunday, January 14, 2001, at the Community Memorial Hospital in Clarion, Iowa, at the age of 85. He is survived by his son, Mark Wooster, Eagle Grove; one grandson, Randy Wooster, Eagle Grove; one brother, Carl Wooster, Fort Dodge; one sister, Arlene Christopher, and her husband, Bob, Phoenix, Ariz.; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sarah; three brothers, Fritz, Henry, and Martin; and four sisters, Katie, Emma, his twin sister, Amelia, and Mary.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2001, at 1:30 p.m. at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove with the Reverends Paul and Susan Stone officiating. Burial will be held in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove. Willim Funeral Home of Eagle Grove is in charge of arrangements.
