Steven Louis Willard was born July 18, 1969, the son of Louis Arthur Jr. and Charmona Madelle Rengstorf Willard, at Long Beach, Calif. He received his education in the Eagle Grove school system and graduated from the Eagle Grove High School in 1988. Following high school, he attended the American Institute of Business in Des Moines. While in Eagle Grove over the summer, Steve and his family operated the Eagle Grove Country Club. He has also worked with the Video Exchange and the Eagle Grove Super Valu. He was a member of the Eagle Grove High School golf team for four years, and participated in many tournaments throughout the summers.

Steven Willard died November 17, 1990, as a result of head injuries suffered in a two car accident on Interstate 35 near Story City. He was 21 years, three months, and 29 days of age. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, and maternal grandparents. He is survived by his parents, Bud and Char Willard, Eagle Grove; one brother, David, Eagle Grove; one sister, Kathy, Lake Elsinore, Calif.; grandparents, Louis and Jean Willard, Eagle Grove; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 21, at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove with the Rev. Scott C. Hall officiating at the 11 a.m. services. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. The Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
