August 29, 1923 --- February 15, 1981

Ivan George Rengstorf, the son of George and Laura True Rengstorf, was born on August 29, 1923 at Marysville, Kans. He died at his home near Ceylon, Minn., on February 15, 1981 at the age of 57 years, five months and 16 days. He attended school in Kansas and later in Eagle Grove and graduated from the Eagle Grove High School in 1942. On September 21, 1942, at Princeton, Mo., he was united in marriage with Marian Christella Berkland of Vincent, Iowa. Ivan served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was in the European War Zone. The couple lived at various places while he was in the service and later at Eagle Grove and Colorado. He was employed by the Stokely-VanCamp Company for several years. He was forced to retire because of poor health. Ivan had lived in Minnesota for the past 18 years. Mrs. Rengstorf died in 1977.

He is survived by his daughter, Charmona, Mrs. Louis Willard of Eagle Grove; his son, Ivan Rengstorf Jr. of Minneapolis, Minn.; his mother, Mrs. Laura Rengstorf of Orange, Calif.; a sister, Laverta, Mrs. Howard Norem of Orange, Calif.; a brother, Rev. Elton Rengstorf of Angola, N.Y.; three grandchildren, David, Kathy and Steven Willard. He was preceded in death by his father, his wife and a brother, Mardell.

Funeral services for Ivan G. Rengstorf were held on Saturday, March 7,1981 at 1 p.m. Rev. Thomas Jolivette, pastor of the Samuel Lutheran Church officiated. Military honors were conducted at the graveside by the Eagle Grove American Legion Post. Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangement.
