January 21, 1912 --- May 7, 1977

Marian Christella Berkland was born January 21, 1912, near Vincent, Iowa, the daughter of Hans and Matilda Olson Berkland. She was educated in the Vincent and Eagle Grove schools. Marian was united in marriage to Ivan Rengstorf of Eagle Grove on Sept. 21, 1942, at Princeton, Mo., the family lived at various places including Colorado and Eagle Grove, before moving to Ceylon, Minn. 15 years ago. Mrs. Rengstorf became ill at her home on Friday evening and was taken to the Trimont Hospital where she passed away that evening at the age of 65 years, 3 months and 15 days.

She is survived by her husband, Ivan, one son, Ivan, Minneapolis, Minn.; one daughter, Charmona, Mrs. Louis Willard Jr., Eagle Grove; two brothers: Alfred Berkland, Glendale, Calif., and Peter Berkland, Redlands, Cal.; one sister, Mrs. Mabel Colling of California and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Omer and Herman; and two sisters: Emma and Olive. Mrs. Rengstorf was a member of the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 9, at the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove, with Pastor Orville Sanderson officiating.
