Charlene K. Palmer, 62, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away, Monday, December 22, 2014, at the Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was born October 23, 1952, in Clarion, Iowa, to Elmer and Merna (Benton) Hamm. She attended Fort Dodge High School and graduated from North Iowa Area Community College in Mason City where she earned her Nursing Degree. Charlene worked as a nurse, driver's license examiner for the Franklin County Courthouse and was a waitress at various restaurants in Hampton. She was united in marriage to Brian Palmer on August 18, 2008, in Allison, Iowa. Charlene enjoyed collecting plastic horses, painting crafts and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Brian Palmer of Hampton, Eugene (Dianna) LaRue of Hampton, daughter Shannon (Darren) Martzahn of Hampton, daughter Chayne Castillo of Hampton, brother Charles (Betty) Hamm of Alexander, brother Terry (Rosy) Hamm of Hampton, sister Brenda Sanchez of Marshalltown, eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Charlene was preceded in death by her parents, and grandson. Visitation will be held Monday, December 29 from 4-8 p.m. at the Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton, Iowa. Burial will take place at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City, Iowa.
