A committal service to celebrate the life of Marian Morris Robson, 98, a resident of Rock Island, formerly of Moline, will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at the Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. If you’d like to join the procession, please arrive at First Congregational Church, 2201-7th Avenue, Moline by 9:45 a.m. Mrs. Robson passed on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Rock Island Health and Rehab Center. Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport is assisting the family with arrangements.

Marian Ruth Morris was born on February 12, 1916 in Kanawha, Iowa, a daughter of Ray and Opal (Stotts) Morris. She was united in marriage to Jack D. Robson on October 27, 1939. He preceded her in death in July 1969. Marian worked for Montgomery Ward in the Moline and Rock Island stores. During World War II, she was a government inspector for shell casings as part of the Chicago Ordinance District. She also worked for Carson Pirie Scott as the department head of the marking room for over 15 years. She was a member of First Congregational Church of Moline. Marian is survived by her daughter, Pam Robson, Moline and a niece Donna Billings, Cookson, Okla. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; a sister, Virginia Mackin; and a brother, Robert Morris.
