Cecil Lyon, 70, of Alden, Iowa, died May 16, 1986, at Valley Baptist Hospital in Harlingen, Tex. He was born Dec. 8, 1914, near Alden to Edgar and Tillie Swalve Lyon. On May 31, 1941, he was married in Eldon to Barbara Wright, who survives. Mr. Lyon lived in Missouri for a short time before returning to the Alden area in 1948. He was a farmer and for several years was employed as a salesman. He was a member of the Dows Presbyterian Church and the Alden Masonic Lodge. He also was a past member of the Flying Farmers of Iowa Falls. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jerry Lyon and Joe Lyon, both of Alden; a brother, John Lyon of Alden; and four grandchildren. One son, James, preceded him in death. Funeral services were held May 20 at the Dows Presbyterian Church in Dows, Iowa. The Rev. John Mann officiated. Burial was in the Alden Cemetery under the direction of Surls Funeral Home. Masonic rites were performed by the Alden Masonic Lodge.
