March 17, 1912 --- January 9, 1996

Myrtle LaVern McBirney, 83, died January 9, 1996 at Valley Hospital in Las Vegas. She was the daughter of Jay W. and Maggie (Root) LaRue. She married Pete McBirney on Nov. 19, 1929 in Dows and to this union six children were born - Darlene, Delores, Sarah, Dorthy, Edwin and John. They lived in Converse and Niobrara counties during the 1940s and 50s. They then moved to Nevada and made their last home in Alamo. She is survived by children Darlene Russell of Salt Lake City, Dorthy York of Shawnee, and John McBirney of Alamo, Nev.; sisters Verl Minard of Riverton and Janice Millett of Yuma, Ariz. and Big Lake, Minn.; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Pete, two brothers, two sisters, two daughters, one son, and two granddaughters. Burial in Douglas Park Cemetery, Douglas, Wyoming.
