PIONEER CALLED HOME

Mrs. Wm. Price, a resident of Hand County [South Dakota] for nearly a half century, passed away at her home here, Sunday, Nov. 17. For some time Mrs. Price had been failing in health and for the past several weeks her condition had been considered serious. Although this was realized, death always comes as a shock to the many friends and relatives. During the many years she resided here, she enjoyed the friendship of many giving sincere friendship in return. She was a Loyal Christian woman, loyal to her home and loyal to her church. She was surrounded by loved ones when the end came. Both children were present, Carrie L. who lives at home and Charles E. of Lake Benton, Minn.

Mary Louise Price (nee Bohanon) was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin, Oct. 8, 1853. She passed away at her home in Ree Heights November 17, 1929. Aged 76 years 1 month and 9 days. At the age of 20 she came to Woolstock, Iowa, where five years later, on March 12th, she was united in marriage to William H. Price. To this union three children were born: Dellia Ann, who died in infancy, Charles E., of Lake Benton, Minn., and Carrie L. Price of Ree Heights. In the spring of 1883 she came with her husband to Hand county, South Dakota and resided several years on a homestead north west of Ree Heights. She passed thru the hardships of the early pioneer days of this state. She was received into the Congregational church of Ree Heights on April 1, 1894, and was held in high esteem, as a church member, to her departure. She leaves to mourn her departure, besides her husband and children, one sister, Mrs. Ellen Evans of Eagle Grove, Iowa also a large number of neighbors and friends. The community extends its sympathy to the bereaved. Her absence will be keenly felt.
