Mrs. M. Schmucker, 91, of Rapid City, SD, died Saturday at Rapid City, following a stroke.

Mrs. Schmucker had accompanied her son and his wife, Mr. & Mrs. Earl Schmucker, to Prescott, Ariz, about six weeks ago. Shortly after they reached Prescott she suffered a stroke and in the fall she injured her hip. She was taken back to Rapid City where she died. Mrs. Schmucker lived in Hawarden 41 years before going to Rapid City to live with her son. Mr. Schmucker was employed many years in the mill here. He died February 8, 1938.

Mrs. Annie Schmucker was born in Berlin, PA, July 26, 1859. She was the daughter of Rev. & Mrs. Tobias Meyers. She spent her earlier years in Pennsylvania and was married December 31, 1882 to Morris Schmucker at Lanark, Ill. She moved to Sheldon in 1889 where he was employed in a flour mill. In 1887 she moved to Ireton and in 1900 she came to Hawarden. She was the mother of two sons; one son, Harry, died April 22, 1941. Mrs. Harry Schmucker lives at Eagle Grove. Her other son, Earl, is moving to Prescott, Ariz, from Rapid City. In 1937, Mr. & Mrs. Schmucker observed their 55th wedding anniversary.

The body was taken to Sheldon and funeral services were held at the Temple Funeral home there Wednesday afternoon with Rev. Rolsten of the United Brethren church officiating. Interment was in the Sheldon cemetery.
