Long Time Resident of Franklin County Passes To Her Reward

Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Duea, assisted by Rev. Dalseide, of Hudson, South Dakota, were held last Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 5, at Otis Grove Lutheran church, for Mrs. Iver Iverson, who passed away January 2, at the family home two miles west of Popejoy. Burial was made in the church cemetery.

Anna Erickson was born in Norway June 6, 1846, and at the age of 22 years came with her parents to this country and settled in Wisconsin. Here she was married to Iver Iverson and they moved to Iowa, settling in Oakland Township. Here they settled and lived for a period of 58 years. She had reached the age of 80 years, 6 months and 26 days. Mrs. Iverson was an industrious, patient and self-sacrificing woman and mother, also active in church work as long as her strength permitted. She had endured all hardships and trials of pioneer life, and as a result, several years ago was afflicted with rheumatism which gradually made her helpless, especially the last eight years. For more than five years she was tenderly cared for and waited on by Mrs. Christine Golackson and her daughter-in-law, Mrs. O. B. Iverson. She was always happy and glad to have her neighbors and friends call, who never heard her complain, though she expressed many times her hope and desire to pass to her heavenly home for rest. She, with her husband, was one of the charter members of Otis Grove Lutheran church.

Besides the bereaved husband, Mrs. Iverson leaves five sons and two daughters, three children having died in early infancy. The remaining children are John Iverson of Eagle Grove; Martin Iverson of Dolliver; Elmen and Oliver Iverson, on the home farm; Mrs. Minnie Guddall, of Thor; A. F. Iverson, of Popejoy, and Mrs. Tillie Dalseide, of Hudson, S.D. She is also survived by five brothers, nineteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
