Funeral Services for Mrs. Simon Peter Lalor, pioneer Woolstock and Eagle Grove woman, were held in Sacred Heart church Monday, August 22. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery Father Riley of Des Moines officiated in the absence of Father Mullan.

Mrs. Lalor lived in the home on East Broadway to which she moved in 1903. Except for an attendant who came in nights Mrs. Lalor lived alone up until the last month of her life. Mrs. Lalor had 16 children eight of whom still survive and eight who preceded her in death as did her husband. She married Simon Lalor in 1881 in Ottawa, Ill. and they moved immediately to a farm in Woolstock township. She has resided in this area since.

Obituary

Harriett Lincoln Lalor, daughter of David and Harriett Fox, born at LaSalle, Illinois, on March 8, 1865, passed away August 19, 1955, at the age of ninety years, five months and eleven days. She was united in marriage to Simon Peter Lalor, October 5, 1881 at Ottawa, Illinois. In that same year they came to Iowa, and purchased a farm in Woolstock Township, where they resided for 22 years, and then in 1903 moved to Eagle Grove, to the family residence on East Broadway, where she lived until her death. She was preceded in death by her husband and eight children. She leaves to mourn her passing five sons and three daughters, Harry J., Edward B., Spokane, Wash.,(Edith) Mrs. Eugene Allen, Clarion; (Ida C.) Mrs. J. E. Long; (Helen M.) Mrs. E. M. Amundson; Fred S., Walter L., Des Moines; Melvin L., Des Moines; and 20 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Sacred Heart church Monday at 9 a. m. Rev. Riley of Des Moines officiating. The children's choir sang. Interment was in Calvary cemetery. Those attending the funeral from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Lalor and son, Garry, Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Lalor, Linda and Larry, Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Allen, Mrs. Harriett Boyington. Mrs. Dan Collins, Mrs. L. S. Lineman, Mrs. Louis Dukate, Clarion; Mr. Edward Lalor, Spokane, Wash.; Mrs. Ilene Larson, Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jensen, Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. Chet Arthur, Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Walker, Miss Amy Goodwin, Alden; Mrs. Bruce Thurmond, Radcliffe; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Smith, Fort Dodge; Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Minor, Rockwell City; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hoehn, Fonda; Mrs. Theresa Walker, Williams.
