Clarence "Jake" A. Jacobson died Tuesday, September 3, 2002, at the Hamilton County Hospital in Webster City, Iowa, at the age, of 73 years. Survivors include his four children: Carolyn "Tudy" Sporaa, and husband, Donald, Kanawha, Iowa, Rod "Bud" Jacobson, and wife, Rita, Eagle Grove, Iowa, Kathy Fender, and husband, Rob, Clarion, Iowa, and Kim Hill, and husband, Dave, Clarion. His other children include: Vicki Creger, Des Moines, Iowa, Mark Reed, and wife, Shelly, Clarion, SaraLee Peck, and husband, Brian, Humboldt, Iowa, MariAnn Borgen, and husband, Don, Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, and Kathy Rasmusson, Eagle Grove. He is also survived by 29 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Paul Jacobson and Amos Munson; and three sisters, Connie Kamp, Mabel Odland, and Viola Armstrong. Preceding him in death were his parents; five brothers, Alfred, Benny, Theodore, and Elmer Jacobson, and Marion Munson; four sisters, Burdette Helm, Genevieve Thompson, Alma Odland, and Caroline Jacobson; and two twin granddaughters.

Clarence "Jake" Arnold Jacobson, the son of Carl O. and Anna S. (Mikelson) Jacobson, was born on March 21, 1929, in Beaver Township, Humboldt County, Iowa. He was raised and educated in Wright and surrounding counties. He served in the United States Army, January 17, 1951, to October 16, 1952, during the Korean War. He was married to Alice Jean Asche on August 6, 1953, they later divorced. He worked as a Dragline Operator for many years. He worked for Kist Sand & Gravel, Geise Construction and Lund Construction in Eagle Grove; Peterson Construction in Badger, Iowa, and Maudlin Construction in Webster City. He was a member of Samuel Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove, the VFW, American Legion and the Iowa Firemen's Association.

Funeral services were held Friday, September 6, at 1:30 p.m., at the Samuel Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove with Reverend Paul Rothfusz, officiating. Burial was held in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Foust Funeral Home of Eagle Grove was in charge of arrangements.
