April 15, 1873 --- March 10, 1930

Miss Anna Kjoberg was born in Strandebarm, Hardanger, Norway, to parents Nils and Anna Kjoberg April 15, 1873, and died in her home in Eagle Grove, Iowa, March. 10, 1930, age 56 years, 10 months and 23 days. She was baptized, instructed and confirmed in the Strandebarm church in Hardanger.

She emigrated to America in 1893 to the vicinity of Eagle Grove and on July 27, 1898 was united in marriage to Sam Torgerson and lived in Eagle Grove. Due to Mr. Torgerson's health, they went to Norway in 1902 where Mr. Torgerson passed away from this life on May 18, 1903. In 1904 she again came to America and on Sept. 3, 1907 was married to John Phippen, making Eagle Grove their home. Mr. Phippen passed away April 30, 1929. Mrs. Phippen has been in poor health for some years, yet death came suddenly. She is survived by one brother, Torbjorn Kjoberg and one sister, Martha Lyngenholm, both in Norway, also by one brother, Sam Joberg and one sister, Mrs. Bertha Sunner both of Eagle Grove, and one sister, Mrs. Carrie A. Peterson of Marshfleld, Oregon.

Mrs. Phippen bore her sickness very patiently and was thankful to each one who called on her. She was thankful for each time we read the word of God and prayed with her. Funeral services were held at the East Side Lutheran Church. Burial in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
