November 23, 1890 --- October 15, 1954

Edward Addison Clue, son of John and Clara Thrumbauer Clue, was born on a farm near Jesup, Iowa, November 23, 1890. He passed away in Eagle Grove at the home of his only daughter, Mrs. George Vilmain on October 15, 1954 at the age of 63 years. He grew up and attended school in the Jesup community. He farmed with his father until his entrance into the army in World War I.

Following his army service he was wed to Hazel Graves of Independence, Iowa, at Ames, on January 1, 1920. There he later completed a Butter-making Course at Iowa State College. He served as butter-maker at Jesup and Hazelton, Iowa before coming to Goldfield in 1927 as Creamery manager and buttermaker. He left Goldfield in 1947 to enter employment as an inspector with the U. S. Dept. of Agriculture, with headquarters in Fort Dodge. Since his retirement in 1930 he had been making his home in Fort Dodge. Mr. Clue was an active member of the United Presbyterian church in Goldfield and of the First Presbyterian church in Fort Dodge. He was a member of the American Legion in Goldfield and in Fort Dodge until the time of his death.

He was preceded in death by his wife Hazel in 1953, and by his parents, and one brother, Roy. His survivors include one child, Mrs. Mildred Vilmain of Eagle Grove, four sisters, Mrs. Mabel Hare, Waterloo; Mrs. Grace Brown, Jesup; Mrs. Pearl Amfahr, Algona; Mrs. Blanche Westemeier, Tampico, HI.; and two brothers, Earl of Hazeltown, Iowa and Ira of Dixon. Ill.
