Funeral services for A. Howard (Abe) Martin, 87, retired Chicago and Northwestern Railway conductor, were held Monday afternoon at the Kastler-Babcock- De Young Funeral Home. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Rev. Orville Sanderson of the Samuel Lutheran Church officiated. Masonic services were held Sunday evening at the Funeral Home.

Mr. Martin died Thursday night at the Rotary Ann Home. Mr. Martin was born March 1, 1888 at Stevens Point, Wisc, and moved with his parents, George and Margretha Smitt Martin, to Wapello, Ia., where he attended school. He came to Eagle Grove in 1910. He was married in 1914 to Kathryn Alice Prehm, who died in 1946. He was married in 1947 to L. Ruth Linnan, who died in 1962.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Charles H. (Ruth) Larson of Lansing, Mich.; two sons: Reed H. Martin of Dayton, O. and Merle E. Martin of Kaukauna, Wisc; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Jerry Knudson of Humboldt; one brother, Ray Martin of Garden Grove, Calif.; and one sister, Mrs. Nerina Pryor of Chicago, Ill. who has lived at the Martin home at 603 W. Second Street N. since 1973. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Mr. Martin has a 50 year membership in Bower Lodge No. 464, Medina Council No. 26, Eagle Grove chapter No. 123 and Order of Eastern Star. He was a long time member and secretary of the order of railway conductors.
