October 6, 1882 --- February 12, 1944

Graveside services for Lee Johnson, whose ashes were brought here, for burial in the family lot beside his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Johnson, were held Monday afternoon in Westlawn cemetery. Mr. Johnson died Feb. 12 at Montreal, Canada. The body was placed in mausoleum and later cremated. The remains, accompanied by his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. C.H. Johnson, and Mrs. Johnson's cousin, Mrs. Martin Fry, were brought from Eagle Grove Monday morning. The Rev. W.H. Parker officiated at the rites.

Mr. Johnson was graduated from the Eagle Grove high school with the class of 1899. For a few years he was engaged in the grocery business in Eagle Grove with his father and brother, H.A. Johnson. Later he withdrew from the firm and attended the engineering college at Iowa University and the University of Wisconsin.

He was born at Lawler, Ia., Oct. 6, 1882. He went into the service department of Montreal in 1907, when he joined the Northern Electric Company. Three years later he had charge of the stores department. In 1913 he was appointed telephone supply contract manager and in 1929 he was appointed assistant general sales manager.

He is survived by his wife, the former Edna Hazel Macey, and a brother, H. A. Johnson of, Eagle Grove, Ia., one nephew; Lt. B. A. Johnson of Solomons, Md., and one niece, Mrs. Earl Newburn, Milton, Ia.
