February 13, 1891 --- November 3, 1962

Mrs. Alma Layton, daughter of Gunder and Karen Skorpen was born Feb. 13, 1891 at Thor. She passed away at the Taylor Rest Home at Eagle Grove Nov. 3 after a lengthy illness at the age of 71 years. She was united in marriage with Benjamin Layton in 1934. He passed away in 1952. Survivors include one daughter, (Gratia) Mrs. Orin Bottorff of Duncombe, four grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Selma Torkelson of Humboldt and Mrs. Sarah Vest of Dakota City and one brother, Holvor Skorpen of Humboldt. Funeral services were held at Our Saviour's Lutheran church in Humboldt, Nov. 6. Burial was in the Union cemetery.
