June 28, 1870 --- August 30, 1942

Mrs. George W. Van Houten, 73, of Eagle Grove passed away suddenly Sunday evening about 10 o'clock. She was returning home in a car and died before reaching home. It was reported that she had not been ill and her death was apparently unexpected. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in Eagle Grove. Burial took place in the Union cemetery in Humboldt.
