Funeral services were held at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon, May 25, in the Jolley Community Methodist church for Fred A. Kraft, who died early Sunday morning, May 22, at the Johnson nursing home in Fort Dodge following a lingering illness. Pastor Charles W. Kimbrell officiated. Floral tributes were arranged by Mrs. Frank Roberts and Mrs. Roy Scheidegger. Robert Huey of Rockwell City sand "What a Friend We Have In Jesus" and "Going Home" accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Floyd Howard. Pallbearers were six grandsons, Leo, Dale and Daryl Kraft, Leonard Ellis, Darwin Erickson and Larry Bloomquist. Burial was in the Twin Lakes township cemetery.

Mr. Kraft was born Sept. 13, 1979, at Champaign, Ill., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred C. Kraft. As a boy he moved with his parents to Iowa and was reared in the Rockwell City vicinity. He farmed in Calhoun county most of his life. He retired ten years ago and lived in Goldfield until he became seriously ill about three years ago. Since then he had been hospitalized in Fort Dodge and Iowa City at various times. On February 21, 1900, he was united in marriage with Miss Emma Van Nasdahl, who passed away in 1901. Later he married Miss Louise Schnell of Rockwell City, who died in 1936. Surviving are the following children: Walter and Carl Kraft of Lake City; Harry Kraft of Fonda; Richard Kraft and Mrs. Leslie (Helen) Ellis of Rockwell City; Mrs. Jordan (Nina) Erickson of Lehigh; Mrs. Lennis (Garnet) Bloomquist of Duncombe; Mrs. Bernard (Nadie) Ondrak of Gibbon, Nebr.; Mrs. Earnest (Marie) Vosberg of Manson; and George Kraft of Goldfield. He is also survived by 47 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Morwitzer of Jolly, a patient at Lutheran hospital in Fort Dodge the past five years, and Mrs. Elmer Reynolds of Adel; and two brothers, John of Guthrie Center and Ernest of Rockwell City. He was preceded in death by one son, Frederick, who died in 1913, his parents, three brothers and three sisters.

Relatives from a distance attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Kraft of Sioux Rapids, Mrs. Verda Kraft and Wayne of Bagley, Mr. and Mrs. Ward Kraft and Mrs. Harold Hemphill of Yale, Mrs. Elmer Reynolds and Mrs. Pauline Hutzell, Lois and Dennis, and Mrs. Darrel Hutzell of Adel, Mrs. Fred Meyer and Mrs. Emma Schnell of Pomeroy, Mrs. Bernard Ondrak of Gibbon, Nebraska and others.
