September 27, 1881 --- December 11, 1928

Mrs. Alma Simmons, forty-eight years old, died at her home in Humboldt last Tuesday morning at six thirty. The cause of her death, was pernicious anemia. She had been ill for the past three years. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at one thirty from the house and at two o'clock from the Congregational church, The Rev. Thomas Lutman will preach the sermon. Burial will be made in Union cemetery.

Mrs. Simmons has lived in Humboldt practically all of her life. She is survived by three children Glenn, Ermina and Paul, all at home, and six brothers and three sisters in the western United States and Canada.

Alma E. Whitman was born Sept 27, 1881 at Goldfield, IA. The earlier part of her life was spent in and near Goldfield. When a young lady she came to Humboldt and there met Frank E. Simmons, to whom she was married, Jan. 20, 1904. To this union were born four children, three are now living: Glenn Edward, Ermina Gladys, and Paul Gordon. The fourth died when an infant. She was a member of the Royal Neighbor and Yoeman lodges and the Congregational church but due to her illness was unable to attend them as she would have liked.

Mrs. Simmons died Tuesday morning, Dec. 11, after a long illness. She leaves three children, father and mother of Canby, Oregon, six sisters, and four brothers to mourn her death.
