March 8, 1884 --- July 3, 1968

Chris M. Luchsinger, 84, was born March 8, 1884, in Humboldt County. He was the son of Matthew Luchsinger and Mary Myers Luchsinger. He passed away Wednesday, July 3, at his home in Humboldt. Mr. Luchsinger was married to Elsie Bull March 20, 1909. The couple farmed in the Hardy area until 1947, when they moved to Humboldt. Since coming to Humboldt, Mr. Luchsinger has been employed at Foley's Flowers until his health began to fall.

He is survived by his wife, Elsie: two sons, Kenneth of Carpentersville, IL, and Kyle of Chicago, Illinois; and three daughters, Mrs. Roscoe Olden of Harrisburg, Missouri, Mrs. Elwood Rummens of Hardy, and Mrs. Irwin Friday of Renwick. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, his parents, and two sisters. He was a member of the Humboldt Methodist Church and had been a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 6, at the Lindhart Funeral Home, with Dr. W. Morris Kildal officiating. The funeral home was in charge of the arrangements, with interment in Union Cemetery. Honorary casket bearers were Dr. Kenneth Friday, Paul Pizner, Burl Rummens, and Kerry Luchsinger. Active pallbearers were Dennis Olden, Bobbie Rummens, William Hippen, Clayton Larsen, Lloyd Rowland, and David McLain.
