Funeral services for Donald L. Anderson, 66, of the Hampton Health Care Center, formerly of the Hardy and Renwick areas, were held Saturday, July 6, at the Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt with burial in the Union Cemetery, Livermore. He died Wednesday, July 3, 2002 at the Franklin General Hospital in Hampton. The Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements with the Rev. Ed Kail officiating.

Survivors include his wife, Donna of Humboldt; daughters and son-in-law, Dawn Anderson of Humboldt, and Denise and Dwight Samson of Sartell, MN; two granddaughters; sister Arlene Engh of Kanawha; and brothers, Gerald of Mt. Vernon, MO, Marvin of Hardy and James of LeMars. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister.

Donald Lee Anderson, the son of Edward and Nellie (Dusseldorp) Anderson, was born on a farm near Britt. As a child, he moved with his family to the Renwick area in 1941. He attended Vernon Consolidated School and following his education began farming. In 1955, he was united in marriage to Donna Smith in the Methodist Church in Livermore. The couple made their home in the Hardy and Renwick areas where they farmed until their retirement. In 1994, they moved to Webster City where Donald became a resident of the Southfield Care Center in 1996. In January of 2000, he moved to the Hampton Health Care Center. He was a member member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt and was a past member of the Lions Club in Livermore. He also served with the Army National Guard for 10 years.
