June 5, 1888 --- June 8, 1965

A lifetime resident of Humbo1dt County, Edward McKenna, died at Mercy Hospital in Fort Dodge Friday afternoon where he had been a patient one day. Funeral services for Mr. McKenna, long time Hardy area farmer, were held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Livermore Monday morning at 9:30 a.m. Rev. Gerald Fisch celebrated the requiem Mass and burial was in the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Livermore. Lindhart Funeral Home of Humboldt was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. McKenna was born and reared near Livermore and attended the former Humboldt College. He married Ida Baessler in 1910 and they have farmed in Grove Township in Humboldt County ever since. Surviving are his wife, seven children: Mrs. Vincent Gardner and Mrs. Robert Jamieson, both of Fort Dodge; Francis of Humboldt; Raymond of San Diego, CA; Robert of Hardy; Donald of Spokane, WA; and Charles of Ankeny; 25 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers and two sisters: Joe McKenna of Mitchell SD; Tom and Katherine McKenna and Mrs. Richard Dunphy, all of Livermore.
