November 20, 1892 --- November 3, 1968

Helen Rowena Nicholson, 75, passed away at the Burlington hospital on November 3, 1968. She was the daughter of Henry Sebastian and Cecilia Howland Rice and was born at Renwick, Iowa on November 20, 1892. In 1913 she was married to Lloyd Leslie Nicholson at Renwick, Iowa and they farmed in Humboldt County, Iowa before moving to Morning Sun in 1943. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1967 and is survived by the following children: Bruce Nicholson, Jackson, Mississippi; Ross Nicholson, West Des Moines, Iowa, James Nicholson, Cocoa Beach, Florida; Mrs. Charity Scheitlin, 2501 Kirkwood Ave., Burlington, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; one great grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Florence Overbaugh, Watertown, S. Dakota; Mrs. Eva Olden, Seattle, Washington; one brother, George Rice, Renwick, Iowa; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Frank Greenwood at 2 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, November 6,at the First United Presbyterian church, Morning Sun with burial in Elmwood cemetery, Morning Sun [Iowa].
