December 18, 1888 --- September 22, 1967

Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday for Lloyd L. Nicholson, 78, of Morning Sun, who died of an apparent heart attack about 6 p.m. Friday at his home. Rev. Edward Fish officiated at the services at First United Presbyterian church. Burial was at Elmwood cemetery. Pierce funeral home was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Nicholson was born December 18, 1888 near Ainsworth, the son of the late Rev. James S. and Margaret McConnell Nicholson. He married Helen Rice on March 19, 1913 at Renwick. Nicholson was a member of the First United Presbyterian church. He was a farmer in Humboldt County before moving to Morning Sun in 1943. He was manager of the Warfield Lumber Co. in Morning Sun and later employed by the Tri-County Concrete Co. Surviving are: his widow, Helen; three sons, Bruce H. of Jackson, Miss., Ross M. of West Des Moines, and James R. of Honolulu, Hawaii.; one daughter, Mrs. Charity Schneitlin of Burlington; one brother, C. R. Nicholson of Morning Sun; one sister, Mrs. Frank Terrell of Fairfield; and 12 grandchildren.
